Students, foster your sense of wonder with hands-on activities that connect you to humpback whales and the ocean! Whether in class or outside, you can participate in learning experiences to expand your horizons through science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The sanctuary education program encourages you to be advocates for your special places.

Sanctuary Ocean Count
Be a part of the annual count of humpback whales in Hawai`i during January, February and March.

Visitor Center
Explore ocean and whale displays, kiosks and activities at the sanctuary’s facilities on Maui and Kaua‘i.

Virtual Reality
Immerse yourself in the ocean and your national marine sanctuaries without getting wet! These virtual reality voyages use 360-degree images to highlight the amazing habitats, animals, and cultural resources you can find in each national marine sanctuary.

Ocean Guardian Programs
Ocean Guardian programs encourage children to explore their natural surroundings to form a sense of personal connection to the ocean and/or watersheds in which they live.
